Share John Wayne Gacy is one of America’s most notorious serial murderers, killing at least 33 boys and young men between 1972 and 1978. He was also a real life scary evil clown, attending fundraising events and children’s parties as his alter ego “Pogo the Clown.” Gacy was executed by lethal injection in 1994, but before he died he took up painting. Many of Gacy’s paintings depicted himself as his scary evil clown alter ego Pogo. These images are some of the most haunting examples of scary evil clown art known today.

He painted many different subjects – landscapes, cartoon characters, skulls – but his favorite subject was scary evil clowns. He painted multiple self-portraits depicting his alter ego, Pogo.
